Is Real Estate News Making Your Head Spin?

Is Real Estate News Making Your Head Spin?

If so, it’s no wonder. Following the headlines can give you whiplash these days. Inflation reports, employment numbers, chaotic interest rate movement, inventory challenges, warnings of impending recession – will there be one and if so, how severe? We see headlines that predict a market crash with little fundamental evidence – at least here in Arizona. We see prices have come down off of the highs of the first half of 2022, and yet we are also seeing appreciation picking up again. So how do you make heads or tails of this competing information?

Every day we help our clients make decisions about buying and selling property and we do so by pointing them in the direction of the most relevant and state of the art data we can put in their path. We know that each individual or family has a unique set of circumstances driving them to consider a sale or purchase of real estate. There is a problem to solve and a real estate transaction may be a part of the solution. Here are the recommendations we offer for helping people make the best real estate decisions:

Focus on local data primarily: While it’s important to have a sense of the trajectory of the economy, national headlines about real estate are almost worthless as each market has its own set of forces setting the direction and pace of that market. What’s happening in Overland Park, KS has little to do with what’s happening in our valley.

Get “Boots On The Ground” information: There is no lack of “celebrity” voices on social media giving advice about real estate. Doesn’t it make sense to get the low down from brokers actively working the markets in which you’re interested in buying, selling, living?

Know that your source of information is relying on reputable, granular data. We at Copper Summit Real Estate invest in the best local data sources available and follow the analysis daily. That’s how we’ve been able to accurately predict trends and assist our clients to feel confident in their decision making.

Get the experience you need in a broker to help obtain the best outcome if you MUST sell or buy at a time that doesn’t feel optimal. Sometimes life forces us to make a move whether we like the timing or not. An experienced broker will provide recommendations for minimizing the disruption and maximize financial benefits. So often a “I wish we didn’t have to” becomes “I’m so glad we did”!

Every transaction we have ever closed began with a conversation to determine best courses of action based upon the unique needs/wants/circumstances of the home seller or buyer. If you’ve been thinking about making a move, let’s start that conversation.
